Finance Council

Home  /  Finance Council

The Finance Council is a group appointed by the Pastor that serves as a valuable resource to the Pastor when making financial decisions on behalf of the parish. The Finance Council assists in preparing the annual budget, reviewing monthly operating results, tracking investment performance, and monitoring the sale of real property.

The Council equally assists in overseeing the physical condition of the parish buildings and property and also helps in providing input and direction on major capital projects. This involves joint review with the Pastor of proposals and specifications for major church repairs and needed renovations.

Experience in the finance services or building construction industries are particularly good backgrounds for parishioners wanting to serve on the Finance Council.

Meetings are held every other month. Once appointed to the Council, term of service is normally for three years at the discretion of the Pastor.
