Fr. Stu Pinette

Fr. Stu came to Sacred Heart Parish in 2025. He was born and raised in New Milford in Litchfield County. His father now lives in Granby, and Fr. Stu treasures the time they spend together and the close relationship they continue to nurture. Last year, he joyfully celebrated the 30th anniversary of his ordination. He holds a B.A. in History from the University of Hartford, an M.A. in Politics & Philosophy from the University of Oxford, and both a Master of Divinity and a Licentiate in Systematic Theology (Ecclesiology) from St. Mary’s Seminary & University.

Since his ordination in 1995, Fr. Stu has served in a variety of parishes as Associate Pastor, Administrator, and Pastor. His assignments have included St. Marianne Cope Parish in Broad Brook; St. Elizabeth Seton Church in Rocky Hill; Mary Magdalen Church in Oakville; St. Bernadette Church in New Haven; St. Michael’s Church in Hartford; Blessed Sacrament Church in Hamden; and most recently, St. Louis de Montfort Parish in Litchfield.

In addition to parish ministry, Fr. Stu has served on the Bioethics Committee for the Franciscan Life Center in Meriden. He has also been a member of the Priest’s Enrichment Committee, the Advisory Board for the Office of Small Christian Communities, and the Diaconate Formation Faculty for the Archdiocese of Hartford.

Fr. Stu loves working with parishioners and families of all ages, especially young people who are seeking to know Jesus more deeply amid the busyness of life. He believes we are all invited to grow closer to the Lord as we worship, learn, and serve in His name—and to reach out to others to join us on the journey of faith. He enjoys collaborating with dedicated parish members to build a vibrant, welcoming community together.
